Fog between the panes is a failed sealed glass unit, not “just Houston humidity.” When the desiccant and edge seal give out, moisture stays trapped inside the insulated glass unit (IGU). The good news: if your sash and frame are still sound, Window Haven can usually replace the glass unit and keep the window you already have.

We measure, order a matching dual-pane (or triple-pane) unit, remove the failed IGU, and install the new glass so the window operates and seals again—often without a full window replacement.

Signs your window seal has failed

• Permanent haze or cloudiness that won’t wipe away from either side

• Water beads or mineral stains between the panes

• Rooms that feel hotter near that window in summer

• Visible spacer or seal damage at the glass edge

How we fix foggy windows

    1. Order a matching sealed unit (clear, Low-E, tempered when required)

      1. Remove the failed IGU and prep the sash

        1. Install, glaze/seal as required, and check balance and operation

      3. Typical path is a measure visit, then an install visit once the unit arrives. Urgent board-ups for broken outer panes are prioritized separately.

    4. We stay repair-first. Full replacement makes sense when the sash is rotten, the balances and frame have failed together, or the unit is obsolete and cannot be rebuilt cleanly. We’ll say so plainly and quote both paths when it matters.
